Wendell Parkey, MD graduated with a bachelor of science from Texas Tech University and earned his Doctorate of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. He then completed his residency in in obstetrics and gynecology at the world-renowned Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where the well-respected medical textbook Williams Obstetrics was authored. Dr. Parkey has practiced medicine for over twenty years and has also previously served as Clinic Director for Seminole Family Medical and Chief of Staff for Seminole Memorial Hospital.
From 2007 to 2016, Dr. Parkey has received the Patient's Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Recognition, awarded by Top Doctors™. Dr. Parkey is active in several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Raising seven children between him and his wife, Dr. Parkey knows how important it is that each patient be treated like a member of his own family, including speaking with a patient in fluent Spanish if that makes her more comfortable. He is committed to being accessible to his patients.
When not seeing patients, you can find Dr. Parkey running his children from one sports event to the next, or volunteering with his church and the Seminole Lion’s Club.
